Intimate YMCA of the Rockies Wedding in Estes Park, Colorado

On the side of a mountain.  That is where Mike and Kirstin got married - in Estes Park, Colorado.  The two met while attending Washburn University in Kansas. Both are attending to obtain their law degrees.  They both have a strong desire to help and to serve and so, it is no wonder that the two met and grew towards marriage.  As easy as the pieces seemed to fit together, Mike was slow to get there. He saw Kirstin and he noted, during the ceremony, that his opening line was, “Nice pants.”  Alright. But, let it be known that they got to this day on the side of the mountain never-the-less (must have been a winning line!).

Both Mike and Kirstin were raised in mountains.  Mike in Wyoming and Kirstin in Colorado. The mountains are beautiful and so an intimate mountain side wedding was their hope and desire.  The YMCA of the Rockies is a full service venue and so all of their friends and family were able to stay fairly close to them. This ended up being an incredible blessing because in the mountains the weather can be unpredictable.  The weekend ended up being a rainy weekend and a lot of quick decisions had to be made. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple was able to work through difficult choices and the day pressed on without much of a hiccup.  The close knit connections to her family gave Kirstin the inspiration for her grandmother to make both her wedding dress and her cake! Go Grandma!

We were able to sneak away for a few moments to capture the newly weds at their original outdoor ceremony site and it truly tied everything together!  It ended up being a unique and beautiful day!

Thank You!
